Why?
Why is it that often times it's the pastor who is the last to know? Why is it that so many people in the church often just assume that their pastor is or should be a mind reader and just know everything that's going on in their lives? Why is it that people have to revert to gossip to find out what's going on in people's lives instead of just going up to the person and asking directly? Why is it that people who most often complain about feeling disconnected from the church body are the ones who never make an effort to get involved even when invited? Why is it that people just assume the pastor has the ability to make people who don't get along, get along? Why do people just assume that everyone in the church is a genuine follower of Christ? Why do people get all bent out of shape when they discover that Christians aren't perfect and have serious issues in their lives? Why do people only seek out the pastor when they're in trouble and fail to seek counsel before trouble comes?

I've been thinking about spiritual community these days and what that means. Not sure what that should look like in my life right now. A friend randomly sent me this verse this week and I thought it sort of related to this topic and this post.
2 Corinthians 6:11-13 = We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open. You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.
Hmmmm.
spiritual community...
how big is it?
how many does it take?
what does it look like?
how can we work towards this?
not sure what the verse mean after reading the whole chapter,
not sure about the context or the setting either...but i will comment either way b/c i am just trying to get thoughts all typed out to feel complete...
ppl are last to know b/c there is no communication, but only physcial presence
there is no sharing/fellowship only movies, food, playing and hanging out (not that any these four things mentioned are wrong, but just that its overly played out)
there is not enough spirit filled, yet there is plenty of physical filler
i have said enough...going to "shut up" now.
one more thing.
Lord please start the work in me first!
show me my shortcoming and teach me your way.
